We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Fareham, Hampshire for a Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full or part time basis?
Key details
- Type: Permanent Veterinary Nurse
- Hours: Full time up to 40 Hours per week
- Weekends: 1:5 Saturdays
- OOH: No OOH
- On call: N/A
- Salary: Up to £30,000 pro rata per annum commensurate to experience
About the role:
- Permanent Veterinary Nurse
- Full or part time role with the full time offering up to 39 hours per week
- Generous weekend rota of 1:5 Saturdays
- No OOH
- The practice can offer flexible shift patterns in terms of the days worked in order to achieve a better work / life balance
- The role will involve all aspects of general nursing including consultations, assisting in surgeries, lab work, schedule 3 work, laser therapy and supporting student nurses and VCAs.
- The practice encourage all nurses to pursue areas of special interest and expand their clinical skills and knowledge
- The practice offers a flexible working pattern to support a work / life balance EG: Shifts to suit school pick ups
About them:
- Established 1ST Opinion practice
- They are located within a pretty village in Surrey with great transport links to London and the South Coast
- They offer a supportive environment which allows their team to grow and develop
- They are equipped with facilities including Digital X-ray, Dental x-ray, Ultrasound, in house Laboratory, Idexx, staff room, cat and dog wards for in patient care.
- The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients using the latest technology
- They provide a supportive environment which offers scope for the Nurse to develop an area of interest
Team culture:
- They have a team of 3 Vets, 4 RVNS, 2 SVNs and 2 VCAs
- One of the Vets is a certificate holder in surgery
- They support the development of all the RVNs and encourage areas of special interest. One of the nurses has just completed an ECC certificate so post graduate qualifications are supported. All of the nursing team are focused on areas of interest which include laser therapy, schedule 3 work and nurse clinics
- They pride themselves on focusing on staff well being and provide a supportive learning environment to all team members along with wellbeing events
- They understand the difficulties that the vet industry can face, and they ensure that each member of staff support each other and strive each day to provide a positive and encouraging work environment
Who are they looking for:
- They are for an enthusiastic and motivated RVN who work well as part of a team
- The Nurse will have a good level of post graduate experience and be comfortable with consultations, anaesthetics and running nurse clinics
- Ideally the Nurse will be looking to progress into a HVN role
- The Nurse will have great communication skills, organisational skills and have an approachable manner
- They will provide an excellent service to all clients and be able to build rapport easily
Package
- Salary: Up to £30,000 pro rata per annum commensurate to experience
