We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Birmingham for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team, working between the exotics branch and small animal surgeries. This role is full time for 5 days per week, along with 1.5 in 6 weekends with time off in lieu. The weekend rota is 1 full weekend and 1 Saturday morning every 6 weeks. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

About the role

• Your general nursing duties will involve nurse consultations, assisting the vets in surgery, anaesthesia, inpatient care and nurse clinics
• You will play a vital role in promoting preventative health care and educating clients in this area
• You will work between the exotics branch and the small animal surgeries

• The practice is home to 24 vets, 30 RVNs, 6 SVNs and a supportive non-clinical team
• They offer a wide range of modern veterinary services and diagnostics, including an in-house laboratory, CT scans, endoscopy, ECG, x-ray and ultrasound

• The practice has vets who holds certificates in surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, cardiology, exotics and internal medicine

• You will ideally have some experience in exotics but a keen interest to develop in this area is also beneficial

Package

• Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
