Permanent Ward Veterinary Nurse - High Wycombe, Berkshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary nurse or soon to be?
  • Are you looking for a ward-based role?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal referral practice in High Wycombe for a Permanent Ward Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full time with weekends on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

About the role:

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Established Referral practice
  • Duties in the role include nursing orthopaedic. Neurological, soft tissue, oncology and internal patients.
  • The Nurse will be based in the kennels and cat ward.
  • The role will involve liaising with the surgical team relating to the recovery and nursing care of the patients from anaesthesia.
  • The Nurse will be expected to provide a high quality of care to all patients.

  • Busy practice offering a varied and interesting case load provide orthopaedic, neurology, soft tissue, internal medicine, oncology and cardiology services.

  • They are equipped with a wide range of facilities including on site CT and MRI
  • All of the team are supported by interns and they all are working closely with their in house rehabilitation department.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

Who are they looking for:

  • They Nurse will have excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with colleagues in particular the surgical team with ease
  • They are looking for a nurse who has excellent interpersonal skills.
  • They Nurse will be able to use their own initiative and be able to self-motivate.
  • The Nurse will be able to multitask
  • Previous referral experience would be an advantage but not essential to the role.
  • They will be passionate, motivated and have the drive to continue to develop their clinical skills and knowledge
  • They will provide an excellent service to all clients and be able to build rapport easily

Package

  • Salary: Up to £31,800 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays and birthday off

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
