Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Newark, Nottinghamshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking to join an established small animal practice?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent practice in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The role is full time for 4 or 5 days per week with early shifts from 9am to 5pm and late shifts from 11am to 7pm, along with 1 in 5 weekends with time off in lieu the following week. The weekend shifts will be Saturdays from 9am to 5pm and Sundays from 10am to 2pm. They are planning to reduce the weekend rota to 1 in 6 or 1 in 7 with the expansion of the team. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The practice are looking for a confident Vet who has great communications skills and a passion for both animal and client care. The role will involve both a mixture of consultations and surgeries.

The practice provide a high standard of clinical care and they have a positive and forward-thinking clinical culture. This is a growing practice and they currently have a tea of 3 Vet, 3 Vet Nurses, and a support team. They have facilities including an in house laboratory, theatre, x-ray, dental x-ray and ultrasound. They also offer on site parking.

An excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to take the next steps and become an experienced Clinical Director or work towards certificates.

Key details

  • Type: Small animal
  • Hours: Full time, 4 or 5 days per week, shifts between 9am and 7pm
  • Weekends: 1 in 5 weekends
  • Sole charge: On occasion
  • OOH: None
  • Consultations: 15 minutes
  • Team: 3 vets, 3 nurses and support staff

Facilities

The practices are fully equipped with all the latest diagnostic equipment and there is a wide range of state-of-the-art services available, including:

Package:

  • Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
  • CPD: Generous allowance
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
  • Quarterly bonus scheme (additional 5% to 20% of salary)
