Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Batley, West Yorkshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal referral hospital in Batley, West Yorkshire for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon who has an interest in dermatology or ophthalmology to join their team. This role is full or part time with 1 in 4 weekends. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

This is a purpose built, large and busy 24hr practice with state-of-the-art facilities. They provide OOH cover and additional support to 15 practices across the West Yorkshire region so referral work, ECC work and inpatient care, routine surgeries and consultations are all provided within the hospital. Ongoing clinical and management support is available. The practice is able to provide support for a bias or certificate in ophthalmology, dermatology or surgery. As this is a hospital, you will also see some ECC work.

  • Ambition to study towards areas of special interest are welcome but not essential for the role
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff
  • You will be a strong team player
