Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Norwich, Norfolk

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary nurse or soon to be?
  • Are you looking to join an established small animal practice in Norwich?

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Norwich for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, along with 1 in 6 Saturday mornings. Part time hours can be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

Key details

  • Type: Small animal
  • Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days
  • Weekends: 1 in 6 Saturday mornings
  • OOH: None, inpatient checks available if interested
  • Team: 4 vets, 2 RVNs and 3 Auxillary Nurses

About the role:

  • Full time position but part time hours considered
  • Working hours are between 8:30am and 6:30pm, Saturdays 8.30am and 12.30pm
  • The role involves all aspects of general nursing, assisting in theatre, consulting, imaging, dental, lab and kennel work
  • Small but busy practice with a varied caseload due to having surgeons with advanced certificates in cardiology and anaesthesia.
  • Opportunity to increase skills in schedule three procedures and surgical nursing
  • Looking for an experienced RVN who is confident in routine duties with a genuine appreciation and passion for the industry

About you:

  • They are looking for a nurse who provides excellent client and patient care
  • The Nurse will be confident in nurse consultations
  • Ideally the RVN will be confident in their abilities which will then in turn enable them to be able to provide a high level of pet care
  • This is a busy practice and sometimes and can often be busy and sometimes high powered so it is important that the nurse is comfortable in this area and is able to prioritise their time and tasks.
  • The Nurse will have great communication skills and have an approachable manner
  • They will provide an excellent service to all clients and be able to build rapport easily
  • Clinical coach would be a bonus so they can look to take on students in the future
