Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Stratford-upon-Avon for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full or part time with 1 in 4 weekends with time back in lieu. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The nurse will be joining a team of 2 vets, 1 HVN, 3 RVNs and 1 VCA. The role offers a varying amount of duties which include consultations and ward along with theatre and prep. The practice is equipped with all the usual toys as well as a separate dog and cat ward and isolation ward.

The practice is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic veterinary nurse and someone who has excellent customer service and communication skills. The nurse will be looking to develop their skills and knowledge. They will be passionate about their work and have a positive attitude. They will work well as part of the team and share in the practices ethos of providing a supporting environment to each other. They will have a friendly and down to earth manner and be able to work well under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the day to day running of the practice
  • Admissions and discharges
  • Working alongside the non-clinical and clinical team to ensure the smooth delivery of patient and client care
  • Assisting in diagnostics
  • Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
  • Monitoring operations and assisting the vet in surgery
  • Administering medications and taking records accurately
  • Dispensing drugs
  • Inpatient care
  • Nurse clinics
  • Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work
  • Occasional reception cover if required
  • Undertaking CPD
