We are recruiting for a permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Doncaster. This is an established 3 branch practice which has recently opened its third branch due to the continual growth of the business.

They pride themselves on providing a family feel to all three sites and have a close-knit supportive team. The Senior Vet will be joining a team of 9 Vets, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs and a large support team.

The role is full time working a 40-hour week with no ooh or bank holiday requirements.

The practice has an experience team of Vets which have various areas of specialism. Their newest branch is of Hospital standard, and they are looking for an additional Vet to join their respected team.

About the role

The established practice is looking for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon who is competent and confident enough to carry our most medical and surgical procedures in general practice. Ideally the candidate will have a medical bias as this would be an advantage but not essential. The Vet will have 5 years' experience however again this is not essential but would be preferred.

The working hours are full time with a 1:7-8 Saturday morning rota from 8am - 12pm.

The role will also involve some managerial responsibility and the Senior Vet will work closely with the Clinical Director. There are also career development opportunities available as the Clinical Director is looking to reduce working hours due to retirement, so the role offers a steppingstone to other opportunities.

There is opportunity to progress with the practice and take over some managerial responsibilities within the practice as the Clinical Director looks to reduce hours to retirement. Excellent opportunity to make the role your own! Full support will be given to help develop managerial skills.

The Vet will have a large amount of small animal experience, work well as a team, lead by example, have excellent communication and client care skills.

Person:

• You will be an experienced veterinary surgeon and confident in routine surgeries and consultations.
• You will be confident with sole charge work should this be required
• You will be ambitious and looking to take the next step in your career into a leadership / senior role
• Clinical Director aspirations would be advantageous
• You will be an enthusiastic and passionate veterinary surgeon
• You will be able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with both clients and fellow members of the team
• You will be passionate and enthusiastic and willing to mentor and support fellow colleagues and students and new graduates. If required
• You will be a forward-thinking veterinary surgeon
• You will be committed to delivering a high standard of clinical care
• A UK driving license

• Salary: 45,000 - 55,000 pro rata
