Permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon - Chatham, Kent

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Chatham, Kent for a Permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 5 days per week with a mix of early and late shifts between 8am and 7:30pm, along with 1 in 3 Saturdays with time off in lieu. Part time applications will also be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

• Type: Small animal
• Hours: Full time, 5 days per week, early and late shifts between 8am and 7:30pm
• Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturdays
• TOIL: A day off in lieu after working a Saturday
• OOH: None
• On call: N/A
• Computer system: Merlin
• Consultations: 15 minutes
• Team: 4 vets, 1 HVN, 5 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 ANA and a supportive non-clinical team

The role

• The role will involve working closeley with the head vet and practice principle
• The practice provide a varied caseload so it is ideal for a vet to be keen to develop their skills and knowledge whilst also ideal for a more experienced Vets to keep them stimulated
• There are surgery days on a rota basis
• Flexible working and rota patterns are available to accommodate a good work-life balance
• The vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service
• The vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients

About you

• The ideal vet will have extensive graduate experience and be confident leading a team
• The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships
• The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills
• The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care and always willing to go that extra mile for patients

Package

• Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
