Job description

We are recruiting a permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Bristol.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week and a 1:4 weekend rota. There is no ooh.

This is a modern bright and spacious practice which has been purpose built and is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

About the role

The practice requires a Veterinary Surgeon who is experienced and enthusiastic and looking to take their next career step and lead a team.

The practice offers the Surgeon clinical freedom and the ability to build up their own client base whilst playing an integral part of the overall development of the business and take the practice to the next level. The Surgeon will have good general surgical and medical skills along with previous experience in emergency surgery. They must have excellent customer service skills and have ambition to grow the business whilst providing a mentoring and support role to other clinicians.

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week
  • Weekends: 1:4 Weekends
  • Sole Charge: Some

  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Consultations: 10 Minutes
  • Team: 2 Vet, 2 RVN and support team

About You:

  • You will be a confident in surgeries and consultations
  • You will be looking to take the next career step into a more senior role
  • You will have ambitions to grow and develop the practice
  • You will ideally have experience in emergency surgery
  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be comfortable with sole charge work
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will be happy to support and mentor fellow members of the team
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 55,000 pro rata
