Professional veterinary recruitment

We are working on behalf of an excellent practice based in Basildon who are recruiting two permanent Veterinary Surgeons to join their team. Both positions are full time with a mixture of consultations and surgeries. The practice has a main hospital clinic with two branches and both roles will be covering various shifts across all three sites.

The practice is RCVS accredited, with multiple modern operating theatres, digital X-ray suite and state-of-the-art air-conditioned kennelling and waiting areas. They are a first opinion practice with a large experienced and dedicated team who have an excellent reputation for their commitment to providing a high standard of veterinary care within the community.

The Vets will have a good level of small animal experience and work well as part of a large team. They will be happy to work across both the main site and branches and make home visits where required. They will have sound clinical judgment decision making skills and be aware when a second opinion or referral is required whether internally or externally. They must have excellent client facing skills, be able to build strong client relationships and have an empathetic attitude where required.

This is an excellent opportunity for both surgeons to join a large established practice with a highly experienced team where they can fully develop their surgical and medical skills further with support.

OOH 1 in 5 weekday, 1 in 4 Saturday clinics and 1 in 9 OOH weekends

• Team: Experienced multi-vet team, qualified RVNs plus auxiliary and support staff

About you

• You will have a good level of small animal experience
• You will provide excellent veterinary care to all patients and clients
• You will have awareness and understanding when a second opinion or a referral for a patient is required
• You will have excellent client facing skills and communication skills
• You will work well with other and be able to problem solve
• You will establish and build client relationships easily
• You will contribute to the practice by offering suggestions and ways to develop new ideas and methods to enable the smooth running of the practice
• You will have an empathetic attitude
• You will have excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills and be able to complete tasks with in allotted times
• You will be a team player
• You will be happy to assist with clinical training for RVNS and fellow team members where applicable

Package:

• 25 days Annual leave
• Salary is commensurate to experience 35,000 - 50,000 pro rata

Must haves:

RCVS registered and qualified
