Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Reigate, Surrey

We are recruiting on behalf of an independent animal practice in Reigate, Surrey for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 or 5 days per week, along with 1 in 12 Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The vet will be joining the practice in a full time capacity and will work across their three branch site. They can offer flexible working hours to suit a good work-life balance. As an independent practice they do offer their own OOH service, however this is not essential to the role if the Vet would not wish to participate. There is administrative time factored to ensure that the Vet leaves on time.

The Vet would be joining a large Veterinary team including 12 Vets and 10 RVNS. They are proud to be a nurse training practice and are currently a RCVS Tier 2 status practice but currently are working towards Tier 3 status. They have a large Vet team comprising of certificate holding surgeons and surgeons who are currently studying towards post graduate qualifications.

The branches are all fully equipped and the provide a wide variety of modern veterinary services including orthopaedics, laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasonography, acupuncture and laser therapy.

They are looking for a Vet who ideally has a surgical bias however they must be confident in some sole charge work when required. They will also have a wide range of surgical experience as the role will be based at their main branch.

Accommodation can be provided for a relocation.

Key details:

  • Type: Small animal
  • Hours: Full time, 4 or 5 days per week
  • Weekends: 1 in 12 Saturdays, 9am to 4pm
  • OOH: Available if the Vet would like to participate
  • Consultations: 15 minutes
  • Sole charge: When on call

  • Accommodation: Onsite flat available if required, relocation package to be discussed

About you:

They are open to various levels of experience. Ideally the Vet will be comfortable in all routine consultations and competent in most surgeries. They will have positive attitude towards work, hardworking, genuine passion for animals, can work great in a team and who is looking for a great opportunity to continue to develop their skills. They must have excellent customer service skills and understand the importance of providing great veterinary care.

Package:

  • Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays
  • CPD: Generous allowance with 5 days to attend
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BEVA fees paid
  • Relocation package: Negotiable
  • Pension: Opt in government pension 3 and 5%
  • Health schemes: Staff wellbeing package

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
  • Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
