Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Arbroath, Angus

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon or soon to be?
  • Are you looking for a new opportunity in Arbroath?

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Arbroath for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4.5 days, along with 2 in 4 Saturdays from 9am to 12:30pm. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

  • Team: 4 vets, 3 RVNs, 3 SVNs and a supportive non-clinical team

The role

  • Small Animal Permanent role for an experienced Vet looking to move into a role where they can develop their skills and knowledge and focus on an area of specialism.
  • The role offers a varied case load with a mixture of consultations and surgeries. The practice provide clinical freedom and the Vet will work up their own cases and see them through. There is consulting and surgery each day.
  • They can offer flexibility in terms of rota patterns to suit out of work commitments/ lifestyle.

  • Offers a wide range of modern veterinary services and diagnostics, including digital x-ray, dental machines, digital radiography and an in-house laboratory

  • They have a very varied caseload and regularly treat small furries, birds and reptiles

  • The practice has a great team made up of 4 vets, 3 RVNs, 3 SVNs and a supportive non-clinical team.

  • They understand the importance of the roles that RVNs play within the practice and actively encourage the development of skills and knowledge whereby the nurses offer nurse clinics where they can advise and educate clients and use their own initiative whilst assisting the vets

About you

  • They are looking for a vet who has a good level of experience both in medicine and surgery.
  • The Vet would be happy to share knowledge and skills with more recent new graduates.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and client facing skills.
  • The vet will have a positive attitude and show empathy and warmth where required to both clients and team members
  • The vet will be happy to share best practice where applicable along with knowledge in order to encourage ongoing development of the overall team
  • The vet will be a team player and be able to work in a collaborative manner
  • The vet will have the confidence to work sole charge as this will be required on occasion
  • The vet will have a passion for both small and large animal work
  • You will have a full UK driver's licence

Package:

  • Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.8 weeks annual leave
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 40 hours to attend
