Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Kilmarnock, Ayrshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking for a new role in Ayrshire?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, along with 1 in 3 Saturdays from 8:30am to 1pm. Part time hours can be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

  • Consultations: 15 minutes
  • Team: 12 vets, 12 nurses and a supportive non-clinical team

The role

  • This is a small animal position working within a mixed animal practice
  • The role involves all aspects of first opinion of small animal work
  • The role involves duties including inpatient care, consultations, surgeries, informing clients of patient results, working alongside the nursing team
  • You will also be responsible for recording patients treatments, diagnostics and charges into the computer system
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work-life balance
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

  • Established Mixed Animal Practice with 3 sites.
  • They encourage clinical freedom and the development of special interests.
  • They are fully equipped with facilities including digital x-ray and dental x-ray radiography, endoscopy, ECG, in house laboratory and ultrasonography.
  • They have a large team of 12 vets and 12 nurses
  • One of their vets holds a certificate in cardiology.
  • The role offers a learning environment with plenty of support available for growth and development.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.8 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
