Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Aberdeen, Scotland

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Aberdeen for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full or part time with shifts between 8am and 7pm, along with 1 in 4 Saturdays. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The practice is looking for a veterinary surgeon who has good experience gained in a small animal practice, excellent communication skills and the ability to create trusting and dependable relationships with your clients. You will be competent in all routine medical and surgical procedures and consultations in order to provide the gold standard of care to the practice's patients and clients.

Key details

• Type: Small animal
• Hours: Full or part time, shifts between 8am and 7pm
• Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturdays
• Lieu: Equivalent time off in lieu
• Sole charge: On occasion
• OOH: None
• Branch work: On occasion, local
• Computer system: Teleos
• Team: 2 vets, range of experienced RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 VCA and a supportive non-clinical team

The role

• The role offers a varied caseload with a mixture of consultations and surgeries
• There will be no OOH work or on-call duties to ensure a good work-life balance

About them

• An independent, personally run, 100% small animal practice with branches in and around Aberdeen
• RCVS GP practice
• The practice currently has a a lot of talent, including, weekly ophthalmology clinics, with a Certificate holder.
• They offer a wide range of modern veterinary services and diagnostics, including digital x-ray processing, dental x-ray machine, endoscope, arthroscope, Doppler ultrasound, comprehensive in-house labs.
• They have the facilities and caseload to support clinical development
• Many of the staff have been the practice since the beginning and the practice has a close family feel of caring professionals who are totally committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients.

About you

• They are looking for a vet who has a good level of experience both in medicine and surgery
• You will have excellent communications skills and client facing skills
• You will have a positive attitude and show empathy to both clients and team members
• You will encourage ongoing development of the team
• You will be a team player and be able to work in a collaborative manner
• You will be an experienced vet who is fully competent in all first opinion work
• You will be confident working sole charge as this will be required at time

Package

• Salary: Up to £55,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 28 days annual leave
• CPD: Generous allowance
