Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Worcester

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal practice in Worcester. This role is full time for 40 hours per week, along with 1 in 3 weekends. There is no OOH work or on-call duties.

This is an established first opinion practice which provides high quality veterinary care. The team comprises of 3 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN and supporting staff. The practice sees a wide variety of cases with each day being different.

About the role

The role involves all aspects of general nursing and the RVN will be working with mainly cats, dogs and small species.

They are looking for a confident and down to earth RVN who can work not only as part of a team but also independently on their own when required. They must be motivated with a genuine passion for animal welfare and wok well under pressure. Excellent customer service and communications skills are key along with good organisational skills and the ability to make decisions to carry out the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Administering treatments
  • Assisting the Veterinary Surgeon in Theatre
  • Taking X-Rays and assisting with diagnostic procedures
  • Looking after in patients, including those in intensive care
  • Reception duties - cover where required
  • Schedule 3 procedures

  • Type: Small animal
  • Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Weekends: 1 in 3 weekends

  • Computer system: RX Works
  • Consultations: 10 minutes
  • Team: 3 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN and reception team

About you:

  • You will have excellent all-round nursing skills.
  • You will work to deliver a high standard of clinical care and have a can-do attitude!

  • You will have strong organisational skills and be able to make decisions on your own when required
  • You will be confident with a down to earth attitude
  • You will have excellent communications skills and be able to develop working relationships with clients and fellow members of staff
