Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Leeds, West Yorkshire

We are recruiting on behalf of an animal charity hospital in Leeds for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full time for 37.5 hours per week with weekends on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

You will deal with a controlled and manageable caseload based on the patient and client needs before all else, as opposed to being driven by commission or income targets. This role offers a great work-life balance which allows you to have time for other interests.

The practice is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic nurse who has a good level of nursing experience and shares their ethos of educating the public on preventative animal welfare. The role will involve carrying out consultations, providing in-patient care and supporting the vets in operations.

About the role:

  • The nurse will be working as part of the team with a variety of duties from supporting the theatre, inpatient care, consults, admission, dispensing medications, maintaining hygiene and encouraging financial contributions
  • The hospital building is well equipped with plenty of consulting space allowing them to meet the demands of this busy small practice
  • The caseload is very varied on a day to day basis
  • There is an opportunity to perform schedule three surgeries with training and support
  • They are a friendly welcoming team that are very supportive
  • They aim to promote a healthy life for all their pets by preventing, educating and treating sick and injured animals with passion and compassion

Package:

  • Salary: £25,127 to £29,249 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
