Job description

We are working with a practice in Barnsley South Yorkshire who are currently recruiting for a qualified veterinary nurse to join them on a full time, permanent basis. The role involves working at the hospital practice in Barnsley as well as sharing work out across the branch practices with the other nursing staff - a driving license is a key requirement.

They are ideally looking for full time staff with a variety of shifts available, however part time hours will be considered for the right person.

Key Details:

  • Type: Small animal only
  • Hours: Variety of shift patterns available, usually 9 hours long between 8am and 7pm most days. Part time hours considered
  • Weekends: 1 in 4 weekend rota, shared between staff
  • Branch work: Yes, 7 branches in local area.
  • OOH: None required - all outsourced

This practice has a wide range of facilities including digital X-ray, dental X-ray, new ultrasound, lab equipment, ECG, endoscopes and many more.

The operate out of a main hospital practice but also have multiple branch surgeries around the local area.

The Person:

They are looking for a qualified veterinary nurse who is registered with the RCVS, has previous experience working in a similar role, has excellent all round nursing skills and is willing to learn & develop with continued training. You must have a driving license and be comfortable working across a few different locations.

The Package:

  • Salary from 20,000 - 25,000 DOE (pro rata if part time)
  • Annual CPD allowance + 3 days per annum
  • 4 weeks annual leave + bank holidays
  • Weekend and bank holiday shifts are paid extra

Must have:

Valid RCVS registration

1 + years qualified veterinary nurse experience
