Permanent Senior Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Redcar, North Yorkshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a mixed animal practice based in Redcar, North Yorkshire for a Permanent Senior Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to work across their 3 branches. This role is full or part time with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. There will be no small animal OOH work.

The Practice is a mixed animal practice on the edge of the North York Moors, close to the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline. They boast a large team who have a range of experienced colleagues, including certificate holders, previous new graduates and vets that have been there for many years. They are proud to boast a low staff turnover. They create a very social with a strong, supportive, and welcoming team.

They are looking for a mixed vet to work alongside the senior team in supporting and motivating the rest of the team.

Role, responsibilities and skills

• The Senior Vet will manage any customer complaints
• In any absence of a Clinical Director the Senior Vet will deputise for them
• They will be responsible for managing their own workload
• They will work with the team and deal with performance behaviour and reviews
• They will motive and drive the team forward to enable the practice to deliver customer and clinical objectives
• The Vet will have a high level of experience in both first opinion and referral practic
• They will clearly demonstrate leadership behaviours

Key details:

• Type: Small animal, large animal
• Hours: Full or part time
• Weekend: 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
• Sole charge: None
• OOH: None for small animal
• Computer system: Vet IT
• Team: 21 vets and 16 nurses across three sites

The practice:

• Over the last 25 years this veterinary practice has established itself amongst the local community and now provides care to thousands of animals large and small every year.
• The practice is based in a beautiful part of the country to work with Moors, Woodlands and the Beach all within a stone's throw. Extremely close proximity to the North York Moors National Park.
• They have around 21 vets across their 3 branches. With this they offer a very friendly and extremely supportive working environment
• Everyone is treated the same and they very much have an open-door policy
• A good experience levels with certificate holders and great support network
• The practice is very social and are often found enjoying team events / night out together

Package:

• Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave, plus bank holidays
• CPD: Generous allowance of £1,750 with 5 days to attend
• Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA paid
• Staff discounts available
• Workplace pension provided

Must haves:

• RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
