Permanent Night Veterinary Nurse - Portishead, Somerset

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary nurse or soon to be?
  • Are you looking for a night role in Somerset?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Portishead, Somerset for a Permanent Night Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full time for 7 nights on and 7 nights off. There will be no on-call duties.

The role:

  • The role involve working alongside a night team and exposure to a varied caseload. The nurse will also be involved with looking after emergency and critical care cases.
  • The role offers a good work/life balance with flexible rota patterns to suit.

About them:

  • First opinion tier 3 small animal hospital
  • They provide 24hr care and have a large experienced team of Vets and Nurses. They also boast certificate holding Vets in medicine, exotics and surgery.
  • The practice is fully equipped with facilities offering a wide range of diagnostics and services including x-ray, endoscopy, laparoscopy, ECG, ultrasound, in house laboratory and separate cat and dog wards.
  • Award winning practice.
  • They have a large supportive team some of whom are at various stages if completing certificates. They offer a supportive and friendly working environment. They regularly go out on social events together such as dog walks and pub visits.
  • They ensure staff leave on time and get breaks and do not feel overworked.
  • They offer a great work-life balance and provide support to one another as a team.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you:

  • They are looking for a nurse who is comfortable in routine nursing and confident working as a sole charge nurse where required.
  • The Nurse will have great communication skills, organisational skills and have an approachable manner.
  • They will provide an excellent service to all clients and be able to build rapport easily.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays and birthday off
