Job description

We have an opportunity for a Veterinary Clinical Director to join a small animal practice in Leicester.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Vet who is looking for a step up in the career and looking to take a new challenge.

This is an established first opinion clinic which has three sites and are located close to motorway and rail links to Birmingham and London yet are located within a semi-rural area providing a lovely small town living environment. There are plenty of good schools and activities for a great family life and offers great places to eat and drink.

The role:

The role will be full time role and the Clinical Director would also be a part of the Saturday rota. Working hours can be flexible to suit the right candidate. There will be no OOH or on-call requirements.

The CD would be joining a large highly experienced Veterinay team and boast a large supportive nursing team who are responsible for providing full service in terms of animal care and to clients and colleagues.

The position will involve the responsibility of the small animal business and they will be working alongside the farm animal clinical directors and lead the whole group across the sites.

They will be responsible for line managing the team of Vets whilst ensuring the financial viability of the business is maximised.

This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work autonomously ensuring the continued success of the three practice sites. There is ongoing support, mentorship, and training to develop clinical and leadership skills.

Who are they looking for

They are looking for a CD who has some previous leadership experience however this is not a deal breaker as most importantly they need to be the right person for the position and fit well into the team. Training and support will be provided. The CD must however be a confident Vet who can make clinical decisions and provide support and mentoring to more junior team members. They will have a compassionate attitude, excellent communication skills, be approachable and be able to prioritise and delegate appropriately.

The practice understands the importance of staff welfare and have a support system in place to ensure that they provide an enjoyable place to work.

  • The role is not determined on years of experience and be catered to suit but ultimately the Vet needs to be ambitious looking to develop your clinical skills and knowledge further
  • Areas of special interest would be an advantage
  • You will want to be at the forefront of the practice help growing and developing the services and facilities provided
  • You will have excellent customer facing skills
  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians

Package:

  • Salary: 55,000 to 65,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
