Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of an independent small animal practice in Swindon for three Permanent Veterinary Surgeons to join them on either full or part time basis.

The full-time role offers a 4-day working week with a 1:4 Saturday mornings per month. There is no OOH. For part time applicants the practice is flexible, and this is something that can be discussed in terms of days and hours worded.

This is an established first opinion practice which is fully equipped with all the toys as one would expect including Ultrasound, in house laboratory, endoscopy, laparoscopy, oscillometric and Doppler B.P, Cryopen, ECG and regenerative medicine including PRP and stem cell.

The practice have an excellent nurse to vet ratio with a large friendly and supportive team of 16 staff in total. There are a few senior nurses who provide excellent support to both newly graduated Vets and experienced Vets. There is also a large nonclinical team who take care of clients.

Who are they looking for

The practice are open to all levels of experience as they are able to support both new graduate Vets and also more experienced Vets due to the nature of cases that they see. New Graduates will be supported for three months by a senior Vet whilst they gain more confidence. More complex cases can be followed through as the practice have access to CT and MRI facilities on an outpatient basis so no full referrals are needed.

They are looking for enthusiastic Vets who have a genuine passion for what they do. Excellent client care and communication skills are important and the ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Hours: Monday - Friday 4 days per week 9.30am - 6.30pm
  • Weekends: 1:4 Saturday mornings

About you:

  • Various levels of experience accepted and support provided for new graduate Vets
  • The role is determined on years of experience and be catered to suit but ultimately the Vet needs to be ambitious looking to develop clinical skills and knowledge further and work towards a certificate
  • You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will have excellent customer facing skills and enjoy establishing and building your own client base
  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians
  • You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare
