Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Watford for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a full-time basis. The role is full time for 4 days per week, along with 1 in 2 weekends. There is some occasional sole charge responsibility and there will be no OOH. The practice is able to consider applications from newly graduated Vets due to the level of support available.

The Vet would be joining a team of 1 Vet, 2 RVNS, 1 VCA and reception team. They see a variety of cases and in particular rabbits and exotics. It is a purpose-built modern practices close to local transport links and comes fully equipped with facilities including 3 consult rooms, an in-house laboratory, digital x-ray and ultrasound. They can also offer onsite parking which is free.

They are looking for a confident Vet and someone who is comfortable with all routine surgeries and medical cases. They would love to welcome someone who has a special interest as this is supported and encouraged and a generous CPD package is available.

About You:

  • You will be competent in routine surgeries and consultations and be able to perform routine surgeries on your own
  • Previous experience with rabbits is an advantage
  • You will have strong medic skills
  • You will be comfortable with some sole charge responsibility
  • You will have an approachable, empathetic, and caring attitude
  • You will be passionate about all aspects of your Veterinary Work
  • You will be happy to share knowledge and mentor others where required
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
  • Ambition to pursue an area of special interest would be supported

  • Salary: 50,000 to 60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
