Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Thetford, Norfolk

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon or soon to be?
  • Are you looking to start your first role as a new graduate veterinary surgeon?

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Thetford, Norfolk. The position is full time for 36 hours per week over 4 days, along with 2 in 10 weekends.

The weekend rota will consist of one weekend as first duty vet, working from 8:30am to 5pm on Saturday and from 9am to 12pm on Sunday. The following weekend, you will be as second duty vet on Saturday and on-call on Sunday in case the first duty vet needs any assistance. You will have a day off in lieu of the first Saturday in the rota.

The practice is one out of three sites in total and the Vet maybe expected to work within the other branches when required.

The practice is looking for a vet who has excellent communication skills in order to inform and support clients and someone who has the ability to create evidence-based treatment plans. You must be passionate about keeping up to date with your own professional development.

The practice support ongoing study and can offer a supportive team of Vets to work alongside some of who are currently studying towards certificate sin medicine, emergency and critical care and feline medicine. The Vet will be a part of a graduate development programme within the practice and this provides training days, in house mentoring, CPD days and clinical practice. There will also be 1 to 1and group mentoring classes.

  • The role is not determined on years of experience and be catered to suit but ultimately the Vet needs to be ambitious looking to develop your clinical skills and knowledge further
  • Areas of special interest would be an advantage
  • You will want to be at the forefront of the practice help growing and developing the services and facilities provided.

  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians

Package:

  • Salary: £32,000 to £60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
