Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Telford, Shropshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking for a new opportunity in Shropshire?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Telford, Shropshire for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week with shifts between 9am and 6:30pm, along with Saturdays on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

  • Consultations: 15 minutes
  • Team: Large veterinary team

The role

  • The position offers a varied caseload and the Vet will have a mixture of consultations and surgeries.
  • The position offers clinical freedom and a great caseload in order to develop areas of special interest. They support and encourage certificates.
  • Full time or part time hours available with full time offering a 4 day working week with shifts between 9am and 6.30pm. There is a shared Saturday rota working 9am - 5pm.
  • There is some sole charge work involved so the Vet will need to be confident in medical and surgical skills.
  • Certificate support and funding is available and encouraged.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

  • RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice - long established practice with a great loyal client base.
  • 9 Branches across the area.
  • They encourage the development of special interests.
  • They are fully equipped with facilities including Ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, bronchoscopy, digital x-ray, dental x-ray and theatre and in house laboratory.
  • They are equipped to perform Orthopaedic (TTA and TPLO) procedures in house.
  • They have a supportive team of Vets and Nurses along with certificate holding Nurses and Surgeons in Exotics, ECC, Imaging, medicine along with a Vet who has a bias in Ophthalmology.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training. The are proud to say that they maintain a low staff turnover by providing a supportive, family feel working environment.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you:

  • The practice are looking for an experienced Vet who is confident with sole charge and routine medical and surgical cases.
  • The Vet will be a team player and someone who is always looking to develop and improve their skills.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills. They will be able to build rapport and strong client relationships.
  • The Vet will be able to organise their own time well and remain calm under pressure.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Geneorus allowance of £1,250 with 5 days to attend
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
