Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Sherburn-in-Emlet for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

The role is available on a full or part time basis with the full time position offering a 4 day week working 9am -6.30pm. They do offer flexible shifts to work around life commitments so they are open to discussion with regards to hours worked. There are no OOH or Sundays.

The role

  • Full or part time role. Full time offering 4 day week. Shared Saturday rota with no Sundays or OOH.
  • The role involves both a mixture of consultations and surgeries.
  • The role can be catered towards areas of special interest.
  • The Vet will have access to work alongside certificate holding surgeons and will have nursing support.
  • The practice encourage and support areas of interest.
  • Areas of special interest are encouraged and supported.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

About them:

  • Established Small Animal Practice - two sites.
  • The main site is equipped with state of the art facilities including laser, blood pressure monitoring machine, digital x-ray, ultrasound, cat friendly wards all set in within a newly refurbished practice.
  • The Sherburn site is a sole charge practice which comes with a large consultation room and theatre along with kennels. There is accommodation onsite for relocation and for breaks and also it offers onsite parking.
  • Sherburn is located close to transport and access to both York and Leeds and is located within a rural setting. It boasts a variety of local amenities, cafes, shops and restaurants. It also has a train station.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

  • They are looking for an experienced Vet who is looking perhaps to focus and develop and area of interest. The Vet will be able to shape their role to match interests.

  • The Vet will work well as part of a team.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £65,000 pro rata per annum commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: £1,250 allowance with 40 hours paid
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
