Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Margate, Kent

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Margate, Kent for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full or part time with shifts between 8am and 7pm, along with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The role

• The role involves working alongside 5 other vets with a mix of consulting and surgical duties
• The position can support various levels of experience from new graduates to more experience vets due to the level of support available
• Flexible working patterns available in order to have a good work-life balance
• The vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service
• The vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients

About them:

• Established 1st opinion practice with a main site and one consulting branch
• They are fully equipped with facilities including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, in house laboratory and video endoscopy
• They have a team of 5.5 vets, 5 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 7 support staff
• They have certificate holding surgeons in surgery and anaesthesia and have 3 currently studying towards certificates in imaging, ophthalmology and surgery therefore certificates are encouraged and supported
• Due to the level of experience within the team they are able to support various areas of specialism for a vet looking to study towards a certificate
• They are in a fantastic location close to all surrounding beaches
• They have regular social outings together
• The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients

About you:

• The ideal candidate will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations with some post graduate experience, however they can cater to various levels of experience as mentoring support is available
• You will have a positive can do attitude
• You will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships
• You will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills and ability to build working relationships easily
• You will always maintain a high standard of clinical care

Package

• Salary: Up to £65,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
• CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 5 days to attend
