Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Luton, Bedfordshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Luton for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is part time for 24 hours per week, along with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

• Hours: Part time, 24 hours per week
• Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, 8:30am to 12pm
• OOH: None
• On-call: None
• Computer system: Merlin
• Consultations: 15 minutes
• Team: 2 vets, 2 RVNs, 1 SVN and 2 VCAs

The role

• The role is equally split between consultations and surgeries
• They offer flexible rota working patterns in order to suit a good work-life balance
• The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service
• The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients

About them:

• Established first opinion small animal practice
• They are equipped with facilities including dental x-ray, digital x-ray, a new dental suit, ultrasound and in-house laboratory
• They can offer a wide variety of cases and believe in case continuity and offer support to the team where required
• They currently have a team of 2 vets moving to 3 vets soon
• The Nursing team are confident in schedule 3 procedures
• The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you:

• The practice are open to applications from various levels of experience
• The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships
• The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills
• The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care and always willing to go that extra mile for patients

Package

• Salary: Up to £65,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off pro rata
• CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 40 hours to attend
