Job description

We are recruiting a permanent small animal veterinary surgeon to join a practice in Kettering Northamptonshire.

This role offers both full and part time hours with a 1:4 weekend rota. There is no OOH.

There is a friendly supportive team comprising of 3.5 Vets and 5 RVNS, SVNs and reception team. There is also a visiting orthopaedic surgeon who preforms complex orthopaedic procedures. The team has a variety of special interests with a certificate holder in feline medicine and another surgeon with an interest in surgery and who is about to begin a certificate in Dermatology, so they offer an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon who wished to pursue areas of special interest and a certificate.

About the role

The practice sees a wide and varied case load to ensure that the veterinary surgeons' clinical skills are utilised to their full potential. They offer the surgeon the ability to fully work up the cases and follow all cases through. The practice does have a fast-paced environment, so they are looking for a surgeon who is confident in areas of routine surgeries and consultations. They do offer regular clinical meetings offering the opportunity for case reviews. There is a generous CPD package which includes the funding for a certificate. They can offer both full and part time hours with a 1:4 weekend rota.

The vet must have excellent customer service skills and enjoy building good working relationships with clients and fellow members of the team. The practice offers a friendly working environment in a modern setting with plenty of tea and snacks available.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
