Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Kendal, Cumbria

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking for a new flexible role in Kendal?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Kendal, Cumbria for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week with shifts between 8:30am and 7pm, along with weekends on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

  • Team: 5 vets, 7 nurses and supportive non-clinical team

The role

  • The role will involve a mixture of carrying out consultations and surgeries.
  • The Vet will work across both of their sites. The main site and their branch surgery.
  • The position can be made tailored for the right candidate with case loads that suit areas of interest. The practice encourage ongoing development of skills and knowledge.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

About them:

  • Small Animal Practice - 2 Sites. Located close to the Lake District.
  • Nurse training practice.
  • They have a supportive team of 5 Vets, 7 Nurses and SVNs. They offer a wide range of experience from experienced Vets to more recently graduated surgeons.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training.
  • They pride themselves on being a caring and fun team and are looking for an enthusiastic Vet to join them.
  • Special interests are supported and encouraged and they currently have Vets studying towards certificates.
  • They are fully equipped with facilities including Ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, in house laboratory along with consultation rooms.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you:

  • They are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Vet who is happy to work closely with the rest of the team.
  • The Vet will be committed to providing a high standard of patient care.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills. They will be able to build rapport and strong client relationships.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £63,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,200 with 5 days to attend
