We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Kendal on the edge of the Lake District, for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week, along with 8 weekends per year. There may be some OOH shifts but this is changing soon.

The role

  • Currently provide their own OOH but this is changing shortly as they will be outsourcing
  • This is a two site practice with the main practice in Kendal and the other on the edge of the Lake District
  • The role involves a mixture of surgery and consultations
  • The role is ideal for a Vet who has a special interest in orthopaedic surgery.
  • The position offers room for progression
  • The role offers flexible working pattern and shifts to suit a good work-life balance, e.g. to work around school hours
  • They are in a position to offer full time, part time or flexi time hours that suit
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

  • Established small animal practice
  • 2 Branches - Kendal and Kirby Lonsdale
  • Fantastic locations in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales
  • They have a large team of 10 small animal Vets (15 in total when including the farm animal practice)
  • 8 RVNS and 1 SVN small animal
  • Two separate teams - Small animal and Farm
  • Certificate holding surgeons in Cardiology and animal behaviour
  • They have been operating for many years now and boast a fantastic local reputation
  • Offers a good work / life balance with a supportive team and regular social outings
  • Longstanding staff members
  • Both of the practice sites are equipped with Digital Radiography, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, theatres, in house laboratory and Ultrasound
  • Excellent local reputation along with a friendly and supportive team
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you

  • The practice are looking for an experienced Vet with a special interest in Orthopaedics.
  • There would be some sole charge on weekends so it is important that the Vet is comfortable
  • The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills
  • The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care and always willing to go that extra mile for patients

Package

  • Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
