Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Derby

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking for a great work-life balance?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Derby for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is part time for 20 hours per week over 2 days, along with 1 in 4 Saturdays and 1 in 8 Sundays. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The role

  • They can offer a mixture of both consultations and surgeries and will support special interests
  • The ensure the work-life balance and manage their diary in such way to ensure break times, administration times and leaving times
  • The offer 15 minute consultations
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work-life balance
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients

About them:

  • First opinion practice part of 7 sites with a tier 3 accredited hospital which offers referrals
  • They have facilities including separate cat and dog wards, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, in-house laboratory, endoscopy and ultrasound with access to the main hospital which is equipped with CT and MRI, Advanced Ultrasound and multiple surgical suites
  • The have certificate holding Vet and provide support for areas of special interest and additional study
  • They can offer a varied and challenging caseload
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients

  • The Vet will ne confident in first opinion work
  • They will be self motivated and confident in their abilities
  • The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships.
  • They are able to support areas of special interest
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills
  • The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care and always willing to go that extra mile for patients

Package

  • Salary: Up to £68,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 40 hours to attend
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
