Job description

We are now recruiting for an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Darlington

This is a full-time position working a 4-day week from 8.30am - 6.30pm and a 1:3 Saturday 8.30am - 12.30pm. Whilst ideally the practice would prefer an experienced Vet they would also accept applications from newly graduated Vets. The practice is very supported and are currently training to become Vet GDP approved.

They are looking for a Vet who is passionate about their work and embraces all aspects of their role. The practice can support CPD, certificates and other post graduate qualifications and these will also be funded. They have a team of highly experienced Vets some of which hold certificates in medicine and others working towards certificates in dermatology and dentistry.

They are equipped with all the toys including a new ultrasound scanner, endoscopy, x-ray suite, dental radiography, two theatres and separate dog and cat wards. They provide a warm and supportive place to work in with a friendly ans relaxed atmosphere. The role offers potential career progression opportunities for the right candidate up to Senior Vet / Clinical Director level. Certificates and areas of special interest are supported.

Working day:

They offer 15 minutes consultations and these run between 8.30am and 10.30am and then 4.30pm - 6.30pm with clinical investigations and surgeries between these times. There is no ooh requirement.

Well behaved staff pets are welcome companions to your work day!

  • Team: 2 vets, 6 RVN's, 2 SVN's and auxiliary staff. Experienced team. Dedicated receptionists and branch co-ordinator

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be happy with all routine surgeries and consultations and able to work up medical cases.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
  • You will be ambitious and motivated looking for a role where you can develop your clinical skills and knowledge and your career further

Facilities:

Its well-equipped practice includes modern state of the art equipment such as Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Tonometer, X -Ray Machine, blood pressure machines, drip pumps and syringe drivers.

Package:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 55,000 commensurate to experience
  • CPD Allowance: 2500
  • Funding available for certificates
