We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Birmingham for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week with shifts between 9am and 7pm. There will be no weekends or OOH work, allowing for a great work-life balance.

The role

  • This position offers a mixture of consultations and surgeries and also offers the Vet independent case management and clinical decision making responsibilities.
  • The role will involve sole charge responsibilities
  • They offer 15 minute consultations.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work-life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

  • First opinion small animal practice
  • Multiple sites across the area with a large Veterinary team.
  • PSS accredited clinic.
  • The practice is fully equipped offering a wide range of diagnostics and veterinary services including an in house lab, ultrasound, orthopaedic kits, dental and digital x-ray.
  • They have a great local reputation and pride themselves on the communication in terms of client care that they provide.
  • They are a short ride away from the town centre where there are a plethora of local amenities and bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
  • With the various levels of expertise within the practice they can offer a plethora of various cases and ongoing learning and development opportunities. They are able to support certificates.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

  • The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills.
  • The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care and always willing to go that extra mile for patients.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 5 days to attend
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
