Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Addlestone, Surrey

We are currently working on behalf of an independent multi-site small animal practice based in Addlestone, Surrey to recruit an ambitious Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The role will be split between their main site in Staines and a branch surgery close by.

This role is full time for 4 days per week with shifts from 8:30am to 7pm or 7:30am to 6pm, along with 1 in 3 Saturdays from 8am to 5pm and 1 in 9 evenings on-call until 9:30pm when an external provider takes over.

The practice benefits from fantastic modern equipment, including a CT scanner, portable dental X-ray equipment, ultrasound and access to an offsite MRI scanner. All sites are RCVS accredited, with the main branch looking to achieve hospital status in 2021.

The practice is proudly independent and can offer a vast amount of support as well as a fantastic environment.

• Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturdays
• OOH: 1 in 9 evening rota until 9:30pm with Vets Now on site

• Driving license/car: Essential

About them

The practice has a vet team which comprises of 15 vets who have a wide range of experience including post-graduate certificates (Surgery, Dermatology) and Advanced Veterinary Practitioner status. Continued Professional Development including certificate study is actively encouraged within the practice and they currently have colleagues studying for internal medicine, surgery, and cardiology certificates. The practice pride themselves on a strong learning culture across the teams.

Along with the highly experienced team they also a fully kitted out with state-of-the-art facilities and are fortunate to be able to work cases up to a high level both medically and surgically, making minimal referrals.

About you

• You will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations
• You will be confident in sole charge work
• You will thrive on a varied caseload
• You will be looking to develop and area of specialism and continue with your professional development

Package:

• Salary: £38,000 to £60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
• CPD: Generous allowance of £1,500 with 5 days to attend
• Memberships: RCVS, VDS, BVA and BSAVA fees paid
• Certificates encouraged and funded
• Pension scheme

Must haves:

• RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
