We have an exciting opportunity for a two Registered Veterinary Nurses to join an independent practice in Leeds on a permanent basis. Both positions are full time however the practice would consider part time. One of the positions requires an RVN however for the second role the practice are able to accommodation a second year SVN. They are also able to offer flexibility and work around school hours.

The working hours are Monday - Friday with a generous 1:7 Saturdays 8.30am - 4pm allowing for a fantastic work / life balance. The earliest start time for a shift would be 7.30am and the latest finish time 7.30pm

This is a friendly and supported independent practice who can offer a varied caseload and a great surgical caseload. The practice perform orthopaedics on site including TTA's and Ridge stops so there are plenty of learning opportunities for the Nurses. They will be involved in nurse consultations, hospital shifts and theatre shifts. There is plenty of room for career progression into a surgical / consultant led role.

An interest in Clinical coaching would be advantageous.

The practice has two sites, the main hospital and a branch surgery. The role would require for the Nurse to perform some nurse consultations at the branch surgery as a minimal requirement.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Veterinary Surgeons
• Completing all general nursing duties
• Nurse consultations
• Clinical coaching duties
• Carry out and complete specific tasks as allocated by the Head Nurse.
• Ensure that you are organised and prepared for cases that are coming in
• Administer treatments - EG injections, fluids, and dressings etc
• Dispense medication as per the Veterinary Surgeons instructions
• Keep accurate records
• Caring for in patients including pre op, medications and recovery and monitoring
• Report progress of in patients to clients
• Ensure you keep accurate records with regards to medical records, anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms etc.
• The practice is looking for an RVN who has a compassionate and empathetic attitude along with excellent communication skills. It is important that the RVN is team player.

Key Details:

• Hours - Mon - Fri: 40 hours per week
• Weekend rota/hours: 1 in 7 weekends - Saturday & Sunday 8.30am - 4pm
• OOH rota: None
• Time of in lieu: Monday off when worked weekend
• Team: 9 Vets 12 Nurses

• They will have excellent client care skills and be able to build client relationships easily.

• They will have an enthusiastic and motivated attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• They will be ambitious and motivated to develop and utilise all their clinical skills.
