Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire

  • Would you like to work in a highly accredited, large group of independent practices?

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Sowerby Bridge for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join the large independent hospital. This role is full or part time with weekends on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The practice will provide a bright, spacious, and modern environment along with two operating theatres. It will offer a wide variety of veterinary services providing a varied case load.

Who are they looking for

The mixed practice is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic veterinary nurse and someone who has excellent customer service and communication skills. The nurse will embrace all aspects of the role and enjoy clinical nursing, in patient care and surgical nursing. They will be passionate about their work and have a positive attitude.

They will work well as part of a large team and share in the practices ethos of providing a supporting environment to each other. They will have a friendly and down to earth manner and be able to work well under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team. They will have an empathetic attitude and be able to build strong client relationships.

They are open to applications from both experienced and newly qualified RVNs as they have plenty of support in place

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the day to day running of the practice
  • Admissions and discharges
  • Working alongside the non-clinical and clinical team to ensure the smooth delivery of patient and client care.
  • Assisting in diagnostics - taking x-rays
  • Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
  • Monitoring operations and assisting the Vet in surgery
  • Administering medications and taking records accurately
  • Dispensing drugs
  • In patient care
  • Nurse clinics
  • Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work.
  • Occasional reception cover if required

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
