We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal referral practice in Nottingham for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, along with weekends on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

This is a busy small animal referral practice and offers an excellent opportunity for an RVN who is particularly interested advanced imaging, neurology and orthopaedics to develop their skills. They require a motivated nurse to join their small team. The nurses are actively involved in fully exercising schedule 3 rights and are trained extensively to perform radiographic, CT and MRI examinations. As full training is provided the practice are happy to accept applications from motivated and ambitious nurses who would like to move into this area with no previous experience. The Nurse will be assisting Veterinary Surgeons with their medical/surgical duties including monitoring of anaesthesia, assistance with handling of patients, overall responsibility for nursing of in-patients under the direction of the veterinary surgeon and client care on all aspects of the work at the branch.

The practice is a busy referral clinic which is fully equipped to a high standard. It boasts an onsite CT and MRI machine as well as other state of the art facilities.

The practice provides a high standard of clinical care and pride themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres.

All staff also benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and CT scanners and state of the art operating theatres in this nearest state-of-the-art Animal Hospital.

Full training is supported, and the position offers an excellent opportunity for an RVN to fully develop their clinical skills and knowledge.

About you

  • A special interest in advanced imaging would be advantageous along with previous experience
  • You will be looking for a role where you can complete schedule 3 procedures - training and support available

  • You will have a good amount of small animal nursing experience in all aspects of nursing

Facilities

Package:

  • Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
