We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Godalming, Surrey for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full time for 37.5 hours per week over 4 days with shifts from 8:30am to 6:30pm, along with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 12:30pm. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

About the role:

  • The Nurse will have 1-hour unpaid lunch break on 3 of the days and then a half an hour on 1 day. The rota will remain the same each week allowing for a better work-life balance and to be able to make plans.
  • The role involves a wide variety of duties including a dedicated operations day. The Nurse will look after patients and liaise with clients over the phone.
  • On the surgical days the nurse will be required to place catheters, take and run the bloods and get the theatre set up for the day. They will also ensure it is cleaned post-surgery.

  • Small animal practice with 4 sites covering the area
  • The practices are fully equipped with facilities including digital x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound, Endoscopy, separate dog and cat kennels and IDEXX laboratory.
  • The have a team of 5 Vets, 4 RVNS and support team
  • They offer an experienced management team ensuring that all the staff feel valued and everyone's voice is always heard.
  • They have certificate holding surgeons and support ongoing learning and development.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you:

  • They are looking for a nurse who will work well using their own initiative and also someone who is a team player. They will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude and embrace all aspects of the role.
  • The Nurse would assist in expanding the nurse clinics within the practice.
  • A Clinical supervisor qualification would be advantageous but not essential.
  • There will be an aspect of the role that will involve dealing with insurance claims and whilst this however would be an advantage if the nurse had some experience in this area it is not essential however it would be part of their duties within the role.
  • The Nurse will have great communication skills, organisational skills and have an approachable manner.
  • The Nurse will be comfortable with nurse consultations.
  • They will provide an excellent service to all clients and be able to build rapport easily.
