Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Chorlton, Greater Manchester

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary nurse?
  • Are you looking for a new opportunity in Manchester?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Chorlton for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 days with shifts between 8am and 8pm on a 5-week rota, along with 1 in 5 weekends. The working week consists of two 12-hour shifts, one 7.5-hour shift and one 8-hour shift. The weekend rota consists of Saturdays from 8am to 11:30am and Sundays from 9am to 11am. There will also be 2 bank holiday morning shifts per year. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

About the role

  • Your general nursing duties will involve nurse clinics, consultations, assisting the vets in surgery, anaesthesia, inpatient care and nurse clinics
  • Your deputy head nurse duties will involve working with the management team to aid with the smooth running of the practice, administrative duties, training nurses, and assisting in managing the team
  • You will play a vital role in promoting preventative health care and educating clients in this area

  • The practice is home to 11 vets, 9 RVNs and a supportive non-clinical team
  • They offer a wide range of modern veterinary services and diagnostics, including an in-house laboratory, orthopaedics, oncology, ECC, endoscopy, ultrasound, x-ray and soft tissue surgery
  • They promote a supportive and inclusive culture which can be felt within their working environment
  • The practice is home to vets who currently hold certificates in exotics, and vets are studying towards certificates in exotics, ECC and ophthalmology

Package

  • Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off

Must haves:
