Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Night Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal Hospital in Hampstead London. This is a full-time position working 45 hours per week on 7 nights on 7 nights off rota.

This is a modern 24 hr animal hospital offering state of the art diagnostic facilities. It comprises of a large team of highly skilled Veterinary Surgeons and Nurses and offers the RVN excellent opportunity to develop their clinical skill set due to the exposure to more complex cases. The practice provides referral services to support branches and clinics across the region.

They boast an excellent local reputation and have a large passionate team who provide a high standard of veterinary care.

About the role

  • The role involves all aspects of general nursing. Responsibilities will include:
  • The RVN will be expected to deliver an exceptional standard of clinical care
  • The RVN will adhere to practice protocols and standard operating procedures
  • The RV will provide support to fellow colleague where necessary
  • The RVN will be expected to build excellent working relationships with clients
  • The RVN will run Nurse clinics
  • The RVN will be happy to become a clinical coach to a student.
  • The RVN must have excellent client care skills and be able to develop working relationships easily and work well as part of a team. They must be ambitious and motivated with a genuine passion for animal welfare.

Facilities:

The practice provide a wide range of modern veterinary services and facilities as one would expect in a modern 24 hr Hospital practice. This includes:

  • Digital X - Ray
  • Dental Suite
  • Ultrasound
  • ECG
  • Endoscopy
  • Operating theatres
  • Consulting rooms
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Separate waiting rooms and wards for dogs and cats
  • In House Laboratory

The Person:

  • You will be driven and ambitious and looking to take your career to the next step and develop your clinical and skills
  • You must be motivated and passionate about your work and share this and promote this ethos with other members of staff
  • Clinical coach experience is advantageous but not essential
  • You will enjoy working as part of a team
  • You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare
  • You will consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will be caring, adaptable, hardworking and reliable
  • You will have excellent communication and customer interfacing skills

The Package:

  • Salary 22,000 - 30,000 Commensurate to experience
  • Holiday Allowance: 25 days holiday plus bank holiday
  • CPD Allowance 500 with 2 days off to attend - higher budget / courses negotiable

RCVS registered and qualified
