Permanent Lead Veterinary Surgeon - King's Lynn, Norfolk

We are recruiting for a Permanent Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in King's Lynn, Norwich. This role is full time for 39 hours per week over 4 days, along with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The position is ideal for a vet who is looking to take on a lead role within a practice and manage a team. They will be responsible for continually driving the clinical standards within the practice forward. The ideal candidate would be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in client communications, establishing good working relationships and leading by example. They will be confident in consultations and surgeries and will have the ambition to drive the practice forward. Previous leadership skills or management experience would be advantageous but not essential.

There is also branch partnership opportunities for the right candidate.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that a high standard of veterinary care is delivered each day and that the team provide quality and ethical care to all their patients and clients
  • Examinations and diagnostics of patients
  • Surgeries
  • Prescribing medications
  • Educate clients on preventative care
  • Vaccinations
  • Ensuring practice compliance and protocols and polices are adhered to.

About you

  • You will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations

  • You will have a minimum of 6 months of experience
  • You will be confident in making clinical decisions
  • An interest in pursuing a certificate would be supported and encouraged

  • You will enjoy mentoring and coaching others and sharing knowledge and experience

Package:

  • Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays
