Permanent Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Ely, Cambridgeshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you an equine and farm vet looking for a new opportunity?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Ely, Cambridgeshire for a Permanent Farm and Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 days, along with 1 in 4 weekends and 1 on-call night shift per week.

  • Team: 9 vets, 2 nurses and 5 support team

The role

  • Equine and Farm Animal role working alongside a team of 9 Vets two of which hold certificates.
  • The role offers a varied Equine and Farm Animal caseload.
  • The practice offer expertise in orthopaedics, reproduction, medicine and surgery. The position offers the Vet the opportunity to expand on areas of interest.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

About them:

  • Established Mixed Animal Practice - Equine and Farm Animal.
  • Purpose built practice which is fully equipped with hospitalisation and surgical facilities for both equine and farm animals. They are always focused on investing in new technology and ideas.
  • They have a team of 9 vets and 2 Nurses. They also have a support team of 5.
  • Practice is located within good reach of London and train links and airport.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you:

  • The practice are open to various levels of experience.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills.
  • The Vet will work well as part of a team.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 40 hours to attend
