We are working with an independent, RCVS accredited veterinary practice on the outskirts of Basingstoke, Hampshire are currently recruiting for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join them and run one of their practices. This position would involve working 40 hours per week between 8:00am and 7:00pm each day, as well as 1 in 8 Saturday rota working 8am until 3pm. The practice outsources all out of hours meaning there is no requirement to be involved in this.

The role would likely be split around 60% clinical time and 40% management time, leading a team of 10 nurses.

This position would suit a well experienced RVN candidate who is looking for the next positive step in their career, or a candidate with previous experience running a branch/managing nurses.

Key Job Details:

Type: Small animal only

Hours Mon-Fri: 40 hours per week, between 8:00am and 7:00pm each day

Weekends: 1 in 8 Saturday rota

OOH: None required - all outsourced

Team: 10 Vets, 10 Nurses and other support staff

About them:

An independent small animal veterinary practice located close to Basingstoke, Hampshire who have 3 fully equipped surgeries within the local area. They host a wide range of facilities including multiple consultation rooms, operating theatre, in house laboratory, radiography and ultrasound machine.

The candidate:

You will be an enthusiastic, efficient and hard-working veterinary nurse who is eager to take a positive step in their career. You will be a qualified veterinary nurse with a strong all-round skill set and a desire to continue learning. Although previous experience running a branch or leading a team would be beneficial, it is not essential.

It is essential you hold your own driving license due to the location of the practice.

The Package:

Salary 27,000-32,000 depending on skills & experience

Must haves:

RCVS Registration

3+ years qualified veterinary nurse experience

Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom.
