Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Registered Head Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal practice in Manchester.

This is a full-time position with weekends on a rota basis at another branch.

This is an exciting opportunity for an RVN who is looking to take their next career step and be part of a forward-thinking practice which offers state of the art facilities.

About the role

The role involves leading the current dynamic team of three nurses as well as providing a variety of general nursing duties.

Clinical coaching is also an important aspect of the role and there is continual ongoing support available from the lead vet. The practice are passionate about providing excellent clinical care and it is vital that the RVN also shares this ethos. They will be providing ongoing patient care whilst also being responsible for the continual growth within the nursing team.

Previous experience in a leadership role or head nurse role would be an advantage but not essential. The RVN must have a friendly and approachable attitude, be always positive and enthusiastic and looking to develop their clinical skill set further with ongoing learning and development. Ultimately the RVN will be looking to take the next step into a Head Nurse role.

About you

  • Previous experience in a lead or head nurse role is advantageous but not essential
  • You will have a high level of solid nursing experience in all aspects of nursing
  • You must have a friendly and compassionate attitude and also be approachable at all times
  • You will be forward thinking and always looking at ways to develop the clinical nursing team further
  • You will enjoy running nurse clinics
  • You will have experience in clinical coaching and or happy to become a clinical coach
  • You will have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • You will enjoy leading a team and providing ongoing support to fellow team members

Package:

  • Salary: 26,000 - 29,000 Pro rata
