Job description

We are recruiting for two Permanent Veterinary Surgeons to join a small animal practice in Southampton. These are full-time roles working 1:2 weekends with time off given in lieu after working a weekend. There is no ooh requirement.

The Vets would be joining a team of 2 Vets and 3 Nurses along with a non-clinical team. This role comprises of a mixture of consultations and surgeries with some sole charge work. The roles offer the Vet clinical freedom and the opportunity to build their client base whilst also having the support of the team.

They are looking for Vets who have experience within a first opinion practice and who are confident in routine consultations and surgeries. Areas of special interest are encouraged and a passion for orthopaedics or exotics would be most welcome though not essential.

About You:

  • You will be ambitious and motivated and excited to develop and expand a practice
  • A bias in orthopaedics or exotics would be advantageous
  • You will have an approachable, empathetic, and caring attitude
  • You will be passionate about all aspects of your Veterinary Work
  • You will enjoy building up your own client base
  • You will be driven and ambitious
  • Ambition to study towards areas of special interest are welcome but not essential for the role
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: Up to 35,000 - 50,000 Commensurate to experience
