Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Totton.

This is a relatively new growing practice which has an excellent reputation. As they are continuing to grow and expand, they are looing for an additional permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join them on either a full or part time basis. There is a 1:3 weekend rota but no ooh. The weekends comprise of Saturday mornings only from 9am - 12pm ensuring with the rest of the weekend off that the surgeon has a good working / life balance.

The practice is purpose built with state-of-the-art facilities. They are fully equipped to deal with more complex cases and offer both routine and advanced surgical facilities such as soft tissue and orthopaedic. The practice is located close to Southampton and it is within good easy access to New Forest National Park. Ideal for someone who would like both a City and Country lifestyle. There are also excellent transport links close by meaning access into London is easy.

About the role

The practice is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon and someone who would like to help build up their own client base at the practice Therefore excellent customer service and communication skills are vital. They should be comfortable with the occasional sole charge work which would be on a weekend, ideally the surgeon would have good general surgical and medical skills and previous experience in emergency surgery would be advantageous.

About You:

  • You will be a confident Veterinary Surgeon
  • You will have good solid medical and surgical cases
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will be comfortable with some sole charge work
  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will have excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

  • Salary: 35,000 - 55,000 pro rata
