Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Sheffield, South Yorkshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking for a new opportunity in South Yorkshire?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Sheffield, South Yorkshire for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 days, along with Saturdays on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

  • Consultations: 15 minutes
  • Team: 3.5 vets and 4.5 nurses

The role

  • The role will involve a split between surgeries and consultations with one full day of surgery per wek and then two more surgery shifts.
  • The role can be tailored to suit personal special interests. Administration time is set aside each day.
  • Certificate support and funding is available.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

  • Small Animal Practice - long established practice with a great loyal client base.
  • Located close to Sheffield City Centre and transport links.
  • They have a family feel approach and enjoy working together and building strong relationships.
  • They encourage the development of special interests.
  • They are fully equipped with facilities including Ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental radiography, in house laboratory, orthopaedic equipment, ECC facilities and physiotherapy.
  • They have a supportive team of 3.5 Vets, 4.5 Nurses and 2 VCAs. They have two Vets who hold certificates in imaging, surgery and internal medicine. A Vet looking to develop in these areas would receive the caseload and support they require.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

About you

  • They are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Vet who is happy to work closely with the rest of the team.
  • The Vet will be a team player and someone who is always looking to develop and improve their skills.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills. They will be able to build rapport and strong client relationships.
  • The Vet will be able to organise their own time well and remain calm under pressure.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 7 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,500 with 5 days to attend
