Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Redditch, Worcestershire

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent practice in Redditch, Worcestershire. The practice can accept applications from new graduate vets. This role is full time for 4 days per week, along with 1 in 5 weekends and 1 in 5 Saturdays.

This is an established independent practice comprising of a friendly team of 6 Vets and 6 Nurses along with supporting non-clinical staff.

They are located within a commute of both Worcester, Birmingham, and the Cotswolds.

They are a supportive and passionate veterinary practice dedicated to providing high quality veterinary care and excellent customer service to their clients. They offer 15 minutes consultations, so it means they spend quality time with both the pet and the client. They see a wide variety of cases mostly cats, dogs and rabbits and exotics such as birds and reptiles.

The practice also has a visiting ophthalmologist specialist alongside the highly experienced team of Vets and Nurses. Due to the level of support available this role would ideally suit either a one-year qualified Veterinary Surgeon or a new graduate surgeon. There would be plenty of ongoing training and support available to develop the surgeon's clinical skills and knowledge. All Vets are encouraged to work up their cases and they are offered clinical freedom to do so however there is support there and often there are case discussions within the practice which provides support. All areas of special interest are welcomed and encouraged and an interest in exotics would be advantageous however not essential.

They are looking for Veterinary Surgeons who are compassionate, enthusiastic and work well within a team. The practice pride themselves on a low staff turnover and are a close team so it is important that the Surgeon can establish good working relationships with both fellow team members and clients. The practice are ideally looking for Vets with 12 months experience or a new graduate.

Key details:

  • Type: Small animal
  • Hours: Full time, 4 days per week
  • Weekends: 1 in 5 weekends, 1 in 5 Saturday mornings, on-call until 6pm
  • On-call: Until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday
  • OOH: None
  • Team: 6 vets, 6 nurses and support team
  • Consultations: 15 minutes
