We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a hugely successful small animal practice based in Portsmouth. This role is full time for 37.5 hours per week over 4 days, along with 1 in 4 weekends. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

It is a full equipped purpose-built clinic offering a wide variety of modern veterinary services with all the latest toys. They have an exciting case load with some more complex cases both surgically and medically.

About the role:

The practice believes in the importance of a good work-life balance and offering the continual opportunity to progress and develop your clinical skills.

These roles would suit a candidate who is either newly qualified or with some experience. The Vets must be passionate and dedicated to providing high quality veterinary care.

You will be an ambitious surgeon who wishes to continue to develop your professional knowledge and clinical skill set. Areas of special interest will be supported, and certificates funded. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills are vital.

Key details:

• Type: Small animal
• Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week over 4 days
• Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends
• Sole charge: None
• Branch work: None
• OOH: None
• Team: 3 vets, 2 RVNs, 1 SVN and supporting staff

Facilities:

They offer a bright, spacious, air-conditioned surgery that is built to industry leading standards and is fully equipped with all the latest technology. They offer a wide range of modern veterinary services and facilities including orthopaedic services and surgery. Other facilities include:

• Digital X-ray
• Ultrasound
• In-house laboratory
• Separate cat and dog wards

Package:

• Salary: £43,000 to £60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
• Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Must haves:

• RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
